Apple's new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models have greater expansion possibilities, thanks to more ports than on the M1 MacBook Pro.

Apple's latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro notebook computers have seen the return of expansion ports, which many users miss very much. As beautiful and slick as the MacBook Pro, a hub hanging on the side will only ruin it, so this is great news for professionals who rely on additional displays, printers, scanners, and other specialized equipment to make the most of their Mac laptops.

The MacBook Pro was first introduced in 2006 and 15 years ago, and computers require a variety of different ports because the standard is not so complete. Although USB-C is now almost universal, connection options in the early years ranged from Ethernet to USB-A, optical fiber, and Firewire. Although many of these ports may be idle, it is good to have an easy connection. Newer models reduce it to only a few USB-C ports and require one for charging, which severely limits what can be connected.

Apple's latest M1 Pro MacBook Pro brings back the missing ports that are still relevant today. The HDMI port expands the range of monitors that can easily be used with MacBook Pro, which is very important when using a laptop as an all-round computer that doubles as a desktop. Thunderbolt displays are more common than before, but this is a limiting factor for recent models. Of course, the Thunderbolt port has not disappeared. Compared with the M1 MacBook Pro, Apple has added more, and the three USB 4 ports are also compatible with the new Thunderbolt 4 standard. The SDXC card port can easily transmit photos and videos from DSLR or security cameras. The headphone jack is also back, which is convenient when you need to charge the headphones and AirPods.

With the expansion port of the new MacBook Pro and the additional graphics processing power of Apple's latest M1 Pro chip, multiple external displays can be connected. For MacBook Pro models equipped with the M1 Pro chip, two external displays are supported, and the M1 Max chip can handle up to four external displays in addition to the Super Retina XDR mini-LED display that comes with Apple’s latest laptop.

MagSafe returned to the MacBook Pro after being removed a few years ago. In the new version, it is smaller, but it works the same way. Use magnets to align and secure the power cord firmly. If you yank or trip the power cord, the power cord will disconnect. This is not an exciting technology, but one of those little details that have an impact. Overall, the new M1 Pro MacBook Pro adds several exciting advancements, taking Apple Silicon to a new level, and bringing back a complete port, making it easier to connect peripherals.
