United Airlines has begun selling tickets for its latest Middle Eastern destination. Flights from Washington, DC to Amman, Jordan are already on sale. United Airlines operates three times a week and will use the Boeing 787-8 on this route because it plans to develop the largest transatlantic timetable in its history in 2022.

United Airlines has officially sold flights between Washington, DC Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Amman Queen Alia International Airport (AMM). Flights to Amman will open on May 5, 2022, with 3 flights every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The flight will depart from IAD at 22:00 and arrive at AMM at 15:55 the next day. The return flight will depart from AMM at 01:15 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The flight will land in Dulles at 06:30 that day. All times are local time.

The flight from Washington, DC to Amman was blocked at 10 hours and 55 minutes. The return flight from Amman to Washington, DC was blocked at 12 hours and 15 minutes. Please note that these flights must be approved by the government.

Patrick Quayle, senior vice president of United International Networks and Alliances, stated on the route:

"We expect that next summer will be one of our busiest transatlantic trips ever, and we know that our customers have been eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to visit unique and unforgettable international destinations. We are happy to give more tourists the opportunity Swim in the Red Sea, visit the Wadi Rum Desert and experience Jordan’s vibrant history and culture."

United Airlines will become the only American airline to fly directly to the United States and Jordan. Jordan’s flagship airline Royal Jordanian will also fly directly to the United States, although it will not fly to Washington, D.C., and United Airlines will sell connections to Amman through its hub in Dulles. The flight is scheduled near the United Bank at the airport. In addition to taking advantage of the existing local route needs, it also provides a natural transfer opportunity.

Joint announcement of Amman and the addition of five new transatlantic destinations. This includes Bergen, Norway; Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain; Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal; and Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The airline describes these as "fashionable" destinations that are increasingly popular with American tourists.

The Middle East is usually one of the destinations underserved by American airlines. Tel Aviv in Israel has attracted the most attention from American airlines. American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines use large-capacity wide-body aircraft on multiple flights every day. Amman will become the second destination United Airlines serves in the Middle East.

However, United Airlines will not be the first American airline to enter Jordan. From June 2008 to May 2011, Delta Air Lines used Boeing 767s to fly to Amman from its hub at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York.

United Airlines will use Boeing 787-8 to fly between Dulles and Amman. This is the smallest model in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner series. United Airlines' 787-8 aircraft uses a three-level configuration and can accommodate 243 passengers.

United Airlines' Boeing 787-8 has been modified to use the airline's latest cabin configuration. There are 28 flat-bed Polaris business class seats in the front of the plane. Equipped with a 1-2-1 configuration, this is a huge upgrade to the airline's older hard product, which does not provide a direct channel for all customers.

Behind this are 21 Premium Plus seats. This is United Airlines' international high-end economy class product, which is comparable to domestic first-class products. Premium Plus uses a 2-3-2 configuration. Followed by 36 extended-space economy seats and 158 standard economy seats, all in a 3-3-3 configuration.

All passengers on board can get on-demand entertainment through the seat back screen. All cabins provide WiFi, power outlets and USB ports.
