The Satechi USB-4 Multiport Adapter with 2.5G Ethernet brings a significant speed boost over typical 1Gbps networking connections.

And that’s just the start. The USB-C hub has a range of other ports, including HDMI, USB-A and more.

The signature feature of Satechi’s latest adapter is support for 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. Most rivals have a maximum data transfer speed of 1Gbps.

Switches on the user’s network also need to support the faster speed. But special cables aren’t required, as long as they are Cat 5e less than 100 meters in length. The port is also backward compatible with 10/100/1000 Mbps networks.

While the highlight of the Satechi USB-4 Multiport Adapter with 2.5G Ethernet is networking, it doesn’t stop there.

The adapter supports HDMI 8K output at up to 60Hz for machines that can handle it. Note that M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBooks currently support up to 6K resolution, per Apple’s specs.

Satechi built in two USB-C ports that support USB 3.2 Gen 2 so their maximum data transfer speed is 10 Gbps. One of these offers PD charging (protocol 2.0 and higher).

There’s also a USB-A port that can transfer at up to 10 Gbps, and an audio jack.

The USB-4 Multiport Adapter with 2.5G Ethernet is available now on Satechi’s website at a cost of $149.99. Satechi is offering an introductory sale of 20% off with code USB4 until September 30.

It’s compatible with MacBook Pro and MacBook Air (M1 Pro & Max and M2), iPad Pro, Mac mini and iMac.

This company offers a range of other adapters, hubs and docks designed for Apple computers.
